The friend of the bees: Nicolae V.Iliesiu *

(an incursion into the universe of a bee-keeper. The result of its research, which lasted more than 40 years, is the product named "Apilarnil" * *, important in the apytherapie and the cure of the diseases.)

The bees, the hives, their hidden world, mysterious, attractive, have it continues all its life.

It was character of novel, this Mister come from Valley from Somes to  Bucharest, Mister which did such an amount of the good, which was of a discretion of aristocrat and that left  this world always, very discreetly.

Its name was reproduced on limp of propolis and bees , compressed and the creams which had like ingredients the products of the bees.

His father, peasant in the village of Maieru, the valley of  Somes, in the north of Transylvania, in the district of Bistrita -Nasaud, had received his first bees on behalf of the father of Liviu Rebreanu, the great writer of Transylvania.

This passion for the bees was a heritage of family for the young Nicolae Iliesiu, become journalist in Bucharest in the drafting of the newspapers of the time.
 

I knew it in Bucharest, in 1988 where he  lived an apartment street Poland. He had posed on the balconies as of the its neighbors, its hives... It is true , at the time, Bucharest was not very polluted, therefore the merry bees flew  all the day by seeking pollen in the corollas of  flowers.

During all its life, Nicolae Iliesiu was obliged of... excusing itself unceasingly for "very odd" faults: let us start with the friendship with Liviu Rebreanu (so normal, they came from the same valley of Transylvanian north), after the friendship with Kalustian and finally the fact that he wrote for the publications directed by Pamfil Seicaru.

Its success during the years 1976-1989 was also reproached to him... Iliesiu was recognized in the world of the researchers in the field of the bee-keeping, invited in international symposiums, its international opening disturbed the narrow spirits and people jealous of his success.

It remains me of our last meeting some answers, some memories. I would like to divide them with those which wish knowledge of advantage on exceptional people but who knew to make owe them with distinction and modesty.

Cleopatra Lorintiu: Mr Iliesiu, your passion for the bees it is a heritage of family. Because your job was that of journalist.

Nicolae V.Iliesiu : This passion I really inherit it my father, from the village of Maieru, "Nest of the dreams" like Liviu Rebreanu called: her father was teaching; when they came in Maieru, Liviu was 3 years old only, he bound friendship with my father.

My large father was a peasant but it had made the college in Vienna, him, it was occupied of the economic part of the village: The Rebreanu family lived close to the house of my large parents.

Vasile Rebreanu, the father of Liviu, one was impassioned of bee-keeping and it adored wild nature. It helped my large father to make an apiary with Maieru.

After ten years the Rebreanu family moved for Prislop, and my large father continued to occupy himself of their hives.

C.L. There were how many  hives?

N.I. Much... the father Liviu Rebreanu has the merit to introduce on the Valley of Somes the hives with a mobile framework, brought of Vienna, modern hives for this time. The system named "Sierson", which had glass behind the hive. Like that, our large parents gave up the primitive hives, fact of branches.

When I was still child, I always wondered why the chickens which were nourished with larvae of bees pushed in a spectacular way This  question remained to me in the head: what do they contain these larvae of bee, a substance which has capacities extraordinary?

After I went has Nasaud, then with Cluj or I started to write in the newspaper " Dacia ".

Later I went in the city of Satu -Mare  where I met Dariu Pop, the composer,  with whom we had a bond of family. He  collected many the popular songs of our area.

It is him which put to me in relation to the newspaper "Run It" directed by Pamfil Seicaru *** of which I was the corresponding one for the north of Transylvania. In 1938 I came to Bucharest as journalist in the drafting from the newspaper "the face", after I became the economic writer.

C L: Did you know Pamfil Seicaru well?

N I. Yes, I worked much with him. But I also wrote for other publications like: "Romania" directed by Cezar Petrescu  or " Bunavestire " of which I was the sub-editor.

But I made party of no political party. Indeed I worked for the daily newspaper published in French " the Moment ". Later I published the daily newspaper "the life" of which I did it present at Liviu Rebreanu on March 31, 1944.

C L. Therefore, you approached Liviu Rebreanu once again.

N I. Yes, it was at the time the General manager of the National Theatre of Bucharest. In general, it helped people of its native area. As for me, I did not have need for assistance, it is me which made him gift the typography which printed the newspaper "Viata", with its 20 Linotype machines. Afterwards, I started to occupy me of the businesses. I bought the typography "Eminescu" I have create companies, in Bucharest, in Oradea.

C.L. It is very interesting your course. However, you are known for your resulted in the field from the bee-keeping! When you summers turned over towards the bees, your first passion?

N.I. Indeed I never gave up them because, during the summer I turned over in my parents, in Maieru and I my father helped to extract honey. In 1957 I have create the apiarian company of which I organized with professor Harnas; I was the first secretary-general of the Association of the Bee-keepers in Romania...

C.L.Tout that seems a course of success, but I know that your life also had problems.

N.I. Yes, I do not like to speak too much about that but I was condemned political for 15 years of labor forced in, the large island of Braila "a very hard place of detention. After 9 years they me one released. After, during the Stalinist time, I was also condemned because of my devotion to the Orthodox Patriarch of the time.

Lastly, all its years passed... during the political prison I were in a village lost in the full one, in Tichilesti, I was likely to work with the bees and the hives, it is that which saved me, I believe.

When I am become again free I wrote my book on the products of the bees, I deposited my patents and I became president d' Apimondia... the things are changed... Here are how the bees were always close to me.

*Nicolae V Iliesiu, Romanian journalist, bee-keeper, inventor and advanced promoter of the bee-keeping; He was the president of "Apimondia" (Romania) and was noticed by his work on the procedures to obtain an active biological product; the "Apilarnil". (1983).

It presented its patents in Italy (October 1983) when it received "Diploma di Bene mereneza"pour its activity.

Prize winner of the gold Diploma and first Price with the XXXI international Congress "Apimondia" (organized in Warsaw, Poland).

In 1988 Erfurt (Germany) has, at the time of the International exhibition of beekeepers , Nicolae V.Iliesiu presented its scientific movie  "Apilarnil" and two official statements on Apilarnil. He received the Diploma and the medal of Honor for obtaining the product "Apilarnil".

** Apilarnil, Romanian original  natural product, obtained by a special procedure applied to the larvae of drone and the nutritive contents of the cells of drone of the rays of honey. One knows today several applications of this product in the drugs  and the cosmetics products.
