Cleopatra Lorintiu « Jeni
Costachescu »
For Jeni Costachescu the passion for creating glass is already
like a wager with her life!

Her pride to dominate the magma, the incandescent material, impose a form and
raise them to a surprising level of artistic creation or an useful object but
noble in its beauty or mystery, is already a priority.
And that, for a life that offers a course completely atypical.
A graduate of polytechnic university , (specialty auto transport, road
vehicles), concerned in art , able to clot and put all energies for higher
goals, especially in the non-governmental, she went into business with courage
and impetuosity, winning success in the field of knitting and fashion design.

At one point, Jeni Costachescu changes everything, including the route of her
life, and then she clung to learn the secrets of creation in the artistic glass,
working herself to the furnace, in the team by creating new models and
participating in an effective way to work in an effort of originality and
creation which imposes!
This effort was supported by tenaciously specialized studies in the field of
fine arts and decorative (creation in glass) and that of Christian theology
(sacred art), which transmitted the ease of translation into the language of the
original concepts of glass sacred essence and invest in monumental art (creation
mosaics and stained glass windows).
All objects made, as large plates where colours are embracing, surprisingly huge
vases or little bowls , tiny oil lamps that impress with their Byzantine
painting or candles, on which are written biblical texts, objects for the desks,
able to make us smile, amalgams in glass contorted, thematic groups that put
values into the possibilities of glass, these objects require their perfection,
their clear beauty.
Byzantine icons on glass shapes with the tube, manually, are painted on gold
leaf or silver and impressed by the balance and originality.

The message of the Islamic sacred texts, writing, wisdom, are transposed on the
same forms in glass, covered in gold leaf or silver: impress the connoisseurs
and Muslim believers, this art enriching by their beauty, public or private
spaces.
Looking at her work as a whole one, struck us by the inner light of faith which
seems to be the impetus for her art, for almost every group of objects,
containing at least one, useful for purpose sacred.

Put together like in a dialogue, Christian art and Islamic art, represents an
opening to the world, a project generously dialogue, for a mutual tolerance,
climbing on the road to spirituality.
It is a dialogue by religion, by force of thought awakens emotion, which
delights us and can cause reflection and as we grow toward meditation or prayer,
so that ultimately, may take the form of argument for the wisdom, the fraternal
spirit and sacredness.
The challenge of this artist is far from finished.
It is changing, trying, in a complicated world, let the art speak!
I wish her courage and power !
