Cleopatra Lorintiu « Pugna »

The Hall  of the Radio brodcast  of Bucharest seemed fallen under the charm.
Public was as surrounded in a shiver.
It was a dressed young person in the popular suit of former days, that carried farmers' sandals, shirt long and frowned as well as jacket without sleeves stocked, frieze black and a hat of fur of lamb. The young singer had a beautiful voice , a mixture of sweetness and sourness.

  It is exactly the mixture inspired by the landscape where from he comes, his born place, more exactly the village Caianu Mic, in the feet of the Mountain Tibles or, during the years 1938-1939 the sociologist Dimitrie Gusti investigated the ancestral customs and the manners of the Romanians to publish them in the review " The Rumanian Sociology " .

  Alexandru Pugna listened to one thousand times songs and stories trouble told by the old women of the village and he learnt the ancient traditional songs, the hymns of Christmas including a variant stranger of ancient Rumanian " Miorita " ballad, considered the quintessence of the spirit of Carpathians Mountains.

  And so he learnt the old war songs, the love songs, the songs who accompanied the recruitment of the young people, and the satiric verses or the love improvised which the people sing by dancing and which they accompany with shouts of enjoyment.

Alexandru Pugna learn the songs of his women, a women of another time, who had a clear voice as Ludovica Hiticas, Maria Cini, Victoria Maierean songs of former days, true to pearl rare with its patience of a lover of the folklore, fascinated by the beauty of the ancient songs

He so learnt a way of singing, of modulating the voice vote, to express the states of mind and to pass on an intensity of the performance, as a flame lives. I remember myself the emotion which I felt when I listened to a traditional song which accompanies young married the day of its wedding, in a rustic atmosphere
I understood that he has a big admiration for the composer Ioan Caianu Romanul, the first composer of Transylvania, been born also to Caianu Mic, the village situated at feet of Mountains Tibles.

    For the young interpreter Alexandru Pugna, who concerns his coat of black wool, as the mountain shepherds and its feathers of peacock its hat and who was warmly applauded in theatres in Cannes, Aix-en-Provence, Colmar, St Maurice.

I can say that in his songs Alexandru Pugna expresses the essence of the landscape either he lived, hills greens, the sourness of the summit of Mountains as well as the clear fascination of a place, a hilly, or hills come down towards the horizon, on the border of the told of Maramures.
